Pa Pa Daniels

We will miss papa, but we have some great memories with him. He was always so thoughtful and generous. Last year I went to the beach in late August to visit papa and go to the kite festival. We are going to go again and fly the biggest kite we can find for papa.

Swords and Skirts

I'm obsessed with swords. I love them. I love to swing them, hit things with them and pretend sword fight with them. Mom thinks it is because about a month ago I watched Peter Pan and have been sword fighting ever since. It doesn't matter what it is, if it resembles a sword I make it into one, such as golf clubs, a flag, and a bat.
One time mom was gardening in the backyard and I said "look mom." I had made my own holster and drew my sword out of it to show mom. She was quite impressed by my imagination and creativity. She had never showed me how to do that. Now I use my shorts and request that mo not put a shirt on me so I can use the belt buckle as my holster.
Oh and I can now dress myself. Mom and dad have been working with me on it and though I am not fast I still get the job done. Yeah for me!

"Skyebird" what mom and dad like to call her is doing great. She loves, loves, loves to walk anywhere and everywhere. In fact, it is getting difficult going to the park because Skye likes to walk all over the place and someone has to keep an eye on me.
Skye is also doing better eating. Now, I know what you are thinking, she is off the charts on weight, but she only preferred starchy foods, but is now branching out and trying many new things. Yeah for Skye!
Well, we are having a family dinner this Saturday so stay tuned for a lot of pictures.

Peace out.

A bunch of stuff.

We have had some hot summer days so Rogan and I get to cool off with a popsicle. The first time I had one I didn't know how to hold it so I fussed the whole time. Now, I am an expert.Brr, that bite was a little cold.
Nana bought me some new summer clothes. Don't I look pretty in my dress? Rogan always calls me a princess when he sees me in a dress. Here I am giving dad a hug.
Jonah and Zeke Herzog visited us the other day. Rogan and Jonah ran around together, but Zeke and I just stared into each other's eyes. Okay, it was short lived, but I felt a real connection or maybe I was just really enjoying my popsicle. I wonder if that is why my pants are so tight. Huh.

This is the only shot mom got of all of us. We were eating gold fish and animal crackers.
Rogan is officially a soccer stud. He kicks the ball with his left foot and can run to kick it too. When Jonah was over, Rogan was kicking the soccer ball with his dad and I realized, well he is quite good.

Okay, first I trapped the ball.
Then, I kick it as hard as I can. After a good kick Rogan would say, "that was a great kick!"
Here are two videos of Rogan kicking the soccer ball. Click on the play symbol.

Hang'n with dad.

Snuggling with dad

I usually don't like to snuggle, but I make an exception for my dad. I love to be held by him and snuggle with him lots. Here we are resting on the bed after my nap. I was being silly snuggling, then blowing kisses, then snuggling and rolling all over the place.
I have to admit I am snuggling a little more with mom and nana. I will rest my head on their chest for 5 seconds and suck my fingers, but up pops my head before you know it.

Lunch outside

When it is nice out, mom throws the blanket down and we all have lunch outside. I think she prefers that because it is less cleaning for her.
Well we have been going on a ton of play dates. I have been to Jay and Kate's house, Rylee and Pace's house, Jay and Kate's grandmother's pool and Hannah and Ethan's house. Hannah babysits me every once in a while. That is all in one week. I am having a great summer staying busy and being active.

Together at Last

Mom decided that since Skye turned 1 and has hit a lot of her milestones she would combine the two blogs.

So lets play catch up. It is summer break, which means we get to spend a ton of time with mom and dad. We go to the park two times a day, play in the backyard, swim at the YMCA or in the backyard, eat a lot of yummy treats, nap and sometimes we take day trips to new places.
Skye is cutting her molars, but is being a real sport about it and I am learning to be gentle. I'm a rowdy boy, but I have a tender heart. I still love cuddling with my mom and she soaks it up. Skye on the other hand is too busy to sit and cuddle. She loves to walk circles around the house exploring things and finding something to eat.
At Skye's last check-up she was off the charts in weight (she enjoys carbs.), 75% percentile in height and 90% in head circumference. The doctor was very impressed with Skye's language. Skye can say many words and will sound them out as best she can too. Mom told the doctor she can say "beaver" and "duck", but mom didn't think the doctor believed her. Then, the doctor gave Skye an Elmo sticker, said "Elmo" to her and Skye repeated it back. She said Skye is advanced and mom was pleased it was in something other than eating.
I am loving swimming. I will swim on my back, jump off the side of the pool and lie on those long floating mats until mom or dad flip me off. I love it when they do that. I quickly say, "again."
